The company has joined hands with Andhra Pradesh Government in restoring power distribution infrastructure by supplying 41,000 PSCC poles in record time. It had constituted an emergency delivery team consisting of two dozen employees to work 24x7 for 14 days. The team has delivered all the poles required by the power department by delivering them at various unloading locations – be it easy or difficult to access. The poles were brought from its Bibinagar plant located near Hyderabad as well as from its Sholapur plant. These two plants were dedicated hundred percent to the supply of poles. More than 100 trucks were employed in transporting of poles. As the poles represent last mile connectivity in the power distribution chain, the company takes pride in doing justice to one of the most important task of restoring power in Hudhud cyclone affected areas in record time. It is also to be noted, being the largest pole manufacturer in India, it is the only vendor who supplied almost 90% of the poles required for power restoration.

Visakhapatnam: Even as majority of areas in Vizag that was devastated due to cyclone Hudhud has been reeling under darkness, Andhra Pradesh CM N Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday assured total power restoration by Oct 25.

“Exactly on this day last week we had terrifying experience.  Power system has totally collapsed due to gusty powerful winds. Around 13,765 engineers are working on power restoration. We have restored almost 10 lakh power connections. By Oct 25, we would be able to restore power totally. All our officers have decided not to celebrate Diwali. Officers said they would celebrate the festival of lights only after total power restoration.  We have brought in 35,000 electric poles to replace the fallen ones,” said Naidu.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

He added that, nowhere in India until now, a cyclone with such a magnitude of Hudhud hit a city. He further explained that they have brought in 500 trucks, 250 proclains and many gensets in hundreds from wherever they were available for relief and restoration works.
